Leap Day?!?

29 02 2012

It’s been a minute since I last posted but I couldn’t let today go by without posting something.

It will be another 4 years before I can post on February 29th.

This really speaks to what I’m trying to do in my life.

Do not pass up opportunities that come your way. Who knows when they will come around again.
Although we know that February 29 will come around again in 2016 but who’s to say I will be around then?

Living life to the fullest is my new motto. Don’t put off till tomorrow what you can do today!!

I’m so excited right now about all the possibilities. I believe I can fly right now and I know I will.

I’m in such a good mood and I know that a lot of it has to do with the weather when I walked out my door this morning. I know it probably won’t be 50+ degrees  tomorrow morning here in Indiana but by golly, it was today and I ENJOYED IT!!

If this were my last post ever, the message I would want to leave to my girls is to

CARPE DIEM!!  SEIZE THE DAY!!

Enjoy every day like it’s your last. Open your heart and let love and life in.
Never let anyone tell you what you can’t do. You can do whatever YOU want to do.
Don’t let anyone steal your dreams.
Be who you are, not who you think others expect you to be.

Pumpkins & Pudds, I love you so much.

Love forever and ever,
Mommy

Western Caribbean Cruise or Hawaii?

20 02 2012

I’m trying to decide which trip I want to take…

A 4-night Western Caribbean cruise for $147 to Key West and Cozumel

or

5-nights at the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel in Hawaii for $508

Both are oh so very tempting. I’ve always wanted to go to Hawaii but I absolutely love cruises.

I guess I could do both though. I mean at those prices, it can’t be beat.

Hmmm, I’ll have to think about it and see.

Bucket List

17 02 2012

I saw the blog for Bucket List Publications and started following it immediately.

The places that Lesley has visited are absolutely awesome and she kicks my butt into gear to go out there and make these things happen for myself.

Bucket List Publications’ goal is to “make the bucket list dreams of others come true”. That is absolutely awesome and a great thing to do for others.

I’m checking out their site to see the places visited and see what can be added to my bucket list that I haven’t even thought of that I can truly make a reality.

Actually, that’s exactly what I do – show people how to make their bucket list dreams become their bucket list reality. Whether it’s skydiving, swimming with the dolphins, building a bottle school in a third world country, vacationing in Fiji, or even just being able to throw the alarm clock away and never have to use it again (this is #1 on my bucket list)…all your dreams can actually become a reality. My goal is to share with everyone who is willing to know how simple it is to make this happen for themselves.

I was told that the best thing you can do for yourself is to dream big and then go out there and make it happen. I absolutely love that I can help others make that happen. It brings so much joy to me to see others happy, smiling, enjoying life and having a good time.

My ever-growing bucket list (most things are places to visit):
I’ll only list a few.

  1. Throw away the alarm clock (more on this in another post)
  2. Skydive
  3. Swim with dolphins
  4. Visit Fiji
  5. Visit Tahiti
  6. Tour of Italy
  7. Tour of China
  8. Voluntourism trips
  9. Visit Thailand
  10. Mediterranean cruise
  11. Visit Rome
  12. Scuba diving in coral reefs
  13. Fantasy Special Ops Adventure
  14. Visit Germany
  15. Visit Israel
  16. Visit Egypt
  17. Visit Japan

Most importantly, take my girls to places that most people only see on TV or read about in books.

I’ll end with one of my favorite quotes:

Life is like a book, and those who do not travel only read one page.

I’m determined to read the WHOLE BOOK. Who wants to join me in the book club of life?

I’d love for you to take the journey with me,
Much love,
Queenie

Spartacus

15 02 2012

I started watching the series Spartucus: Blood and Sand season 1 this week. I’ve been watching it through Netflix streaming on my iPhone. While I’m at work. It’s actually been helping me get through the day because I’ve been so tired lately.

I just started watching it just because and now I’m freaking hooked. Can’t get enough of the show. Today is only the 3rd day and I’m already on episode 11. I may have to pay for Starz just so that I can see the second season which started last month. Too bad the second season isn’t on Netflix yet.

I don’t even understand why I like it so much. It’s full of a lot of blood and killing. And all the backstabbing literally drives me crazy. Most times I want to kill the women in the story and knock some sense into the men.

I can’t believe I haven’t posted anything in days and this is what I decide to write about.

Oh well, I’ll write about something else the next time. :-)

Time to get back to Spartacus,
Until next time,
Many Blessings,
Queenie

Super Bowl XLVI

15 02 2012

Super Bowl XLVI is here in Indianapolis this year. Yay Naptown!!!

The festivities have begun. I took Pumpkins and Pudds downtown on January 24th to see things before the crowd came in.

They had so much fun downtown. We laughed a lot and took tons of pictures.

On our way back to the car there was a guy playing some drums and singing. I took out my “YOU SHOULD BE HERE” sign and started dancing. The girls recorded me. It was the funniest thing and they enjoyed it so much.

All the fun we had in those two hours only cost me $1.50 (the cost to park in the mall garage). Who said you can’t have fun and create memories for FREE!!!

That’s what this is all about for my kids…creating long lasting memories.

When I get the chance, I will try and upload the video.

Until then,
God Bless,
Queenie

Happy Birthday!

2 02 2012

Today is Pudds 12th birthday!!!

Happy Birthday Pudds!!!!!!!!!

I asked her what she wanted for her birthday. She asked if she could go clothes shopping at Goodwill.
That’s my girl. So that’s exactly what we did. She ended up with 8 tops and was so proud and happy with her purchases.

I love that my children aren’t into name brands and “the style”. They want stuff that THEY like and what THEY think looks good on them. Not what others think.

That’s all I wanted to do with this post…say HAPPY BIRTHDAY PUDDS!!!

Until next time,
Queenie
